Cadasse Bakery – 5 Years Supporting the St Lucia Red Cross
Charitable Activities, News

Cadasse Bakery commenced its relationship with the St Lucia Red Cross at the height of the Covid 19 pandemic. It was an unplanned encounter following an announced shutdown for the country. And with bread already made, the company immediately sought out institutions to donate the day’s production to, and the St Lucia Red Cross was one of those institutions. They were quick to respond and mobilize for pickup and collection of the bread. Immediately organizing distribution amongst their networks.

This partnership was unforeseen, but from that first encounter, and after learning of the impact that the donation had, the company decided to embark on providing regular relief during the Covid pandemic and, from there, we continued to give much needed support post Covid to, by extension, a wider network of agencies and homes, as well as to the homeless. We are proud to have been part of efforts to bring relief during a period of great hardship.

We continue to support the organization’s mission and priorities, which include disaster preparedness, community development, health and outreach, poverty reduction, youth development, and support in crisis. We will do all we can with regular donations.

The St Lucia Red Cross has brought relief to St. Lucians since 1949. Mr Herbert Pierre has had many roles during his tenure, which began in 1992. He currently serves as the organization’s director.
